Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Stacy Mitchhart got his first guitar when he was nine and 18 months later was playing his first solo in a school choir concert. After playing around the east coast a few years, he moved to Nashville in 1996 and became the house band at the famous Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar in historic Printer’s Alley.
“Moving to Nashville has been fantastic. I lived in Los Angeles and New York and made a good living, but I’ve played with cats here that I wouldn’t have been able to (play with) anyplace else – James Brown, Keb’ Mo, Stephen Stills, Gatemouth Brown, Joe Sample and other cats like that. I even played with John Entwhistle of The Who,” Mitchhart says. This is where Mitchhart earned the nickname “The Blues Doctor”. He has been the recipient of numerous music awards including Blues Entertainer of the Year, Blues Vocalist of the Year and Blues Guitarist of the Year. He tours the midwest often with his his band "Blues-U-Can-Use". On March 29th, Stacy brought his velvet smooth vocals and masterful blues playing to another Car-Fi sponsored Blues Down Under concert at Cartoons. |
